Katy Jo Muncie is an experienced and aggressive trial lawyer. She grew up in the Texas Hill Country along the beautiful Guadalupe River. Katy Jo attended The University of Houston on a full academic scholarship awarded to only thirteen high school seniors in the state. After graduating from The University of Houston with honors, Katy Jo obtained her law degree from South Texas College of Law. At South Texas, she excelled in the school’s nationally ranked advocacy program. Katy Jo won a national moot court championship and received multiple top advocate awards during her time there.
After law school Katy Jo moved to Washington D.C. where she worked on campaigns and spent time in Congress advocating for the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials. She then returned home to Texas and worked as a prosecutor at the Galveston County District Attorney’s Office. She spent time practicing in misdemeanor and felony court, trying dozens of cases to jury verdict. As an assistant district attorney, Katy Jo handled hundreds of criminal cases from inception to conclusion ranging from misdemeanor DWI cases all the way to aggravated felonies. As a criminal defense specialist, Katy Jo has handled misdemeanor and felony case with multiple not guilty jury verdicts in the Harris County Courthouse.
Katy Jo prides herself on her keen knowledge of the law and being quick on her feet. Some attorneys may shy away from a tough case, but Katy Jo will embrace it. She gives her clients everything she’s got to get the best results possible.
Katy Jo lives in Houston with her dog bracket. She is the past secretary of the Galveston County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and a member of the Harris County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.
