Jessica understands that a criminal conviction can impact someone for the rest of their life and that there is no substitute for one’s liberty. Merely being accused of a crime can severely impact someone’s life and Jessica takes such matters very seriously.
Jessica Ebbs was raised and has lived in Galveston County her entire life. In 2012, Jessica graduated cum laude from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. After college, she attended South Texas College of Law to obtain her law degree.
After completing law school, Jessica started at the Galveston County District Attorney’s Office as an Assistant District Attorney. She began her legal career as an ADA and handled solely misdemeanor cases and was responsible for handling a large volume of cases from the beginning to end and in many situations, trying those cases to a jury.
Within her first year at the Galveston County DA’s Office, Jessica was promoted as a felony prosecutor to the 122nd Judicial District Court and later, to the 10th Judicial District Court. As a felony prosecutor, Jessica was responsible for handling all levels of felony cases from onset to finish, including felony jury trials.
Being a prosecutor taught Jessica how to relate with victims and prosecute cases, seeking to uphold the constitution and the laws of the State of Texas. Jessica will now continue her pursuit of justice for those accused of crimes by the State of Texas. Having dealt with hundreds of cases as a prosecutor, Jessica has a thorough understanding of how prosecutors think and how they approach the prosecution of a case. Jessica will use this understanding to critically analyze cases and hold prosecutors to their tremendous burden of proving the accused guilty, beyond a reasonable doubt.
